2010 Grand National Tips

Different tips for the 2010 Grand National.

The Best 2010 Grand National Tip

For quality Grand National tips it is worth looking at Big Fella Thanks. I doubt that many horses have ever tackled the Grand National with fewer races under their belt than this raw seven-year-old from the yard of champion trainer, Paul Nicholls.

The Barber and Findlay owned gelding lined up in the 2009 Grand National with just six previous races over fences and only nine races under Rules in total.

Given the horse's age (No six-year-old has won the National since before the First World War!) and his inexperience he has run a huge race to finish 6th with 11 stone on his back. Connections have resisted the temptation to push his handicap rating up too far and the horse has even shown his versatility by winning over an inadequate trip of two and a half miles. That win now means that Big Fellat Thanks is five pounlds 'well handicapped' on his Grand National mark and Ruby Walsh was also impressed enough to make sure this horse is his ride in the 2010 National. Big Fella Thanks will take plenty of beating next Saturday.

Big Fella Thanks is 29-1 with Betfair

Vic Venturi Is The Best Handicapped Grand National Tip

Another horse to consider is: Vic Venturi.

Currently available at a good each way price and with great course form he looks sure to go well.

Dessie Hughes, his trainer, is convinced he will go well on decent ground and official handicapper Phil Smith would like to give him another eight pounds if he could reassess his Grand National weight He looks to have a great chance if he can stay on his feet and he is one of our main grand national tips

Vic Venturi is 40-1 with Bet 365

Maljimar Looks A Great Each Way Bet In The Grand National 2010

Maljimar from the yard of Nick Williams has been kept frsh epecially for the Grand National and those tactics could reap big dividennds. The last time he was prepared in such a way he very nearly won a big race, the William Hill Chase at Cheltenham. Doubters will point to question marks over stamina but his trainer has no doubts this horse will get the trip and as he has trained plenty of good staying chasers we should take the hint. At around 33/1 or 40/1 he looks great each-way value.
Maljimar is 50-1 with William Hill

Coming Up With Grand National Tips

Picking the Grand National winner takes a lot of doing but fortunately the bookmakers pay four places on each way bets as standard so making a profit on the race is not as difficult as it seems. It is very rare to find a runner in the Grand National that has such short odds that you won’t make a profit on an each way bet if the horse places. Therefore you should consider making all of your Grand National bets each way.

A Grand National winner not only needs to be well handicapped, but they also need stamina in abundance to see out the four and a half mile trip, the longest race there is, and they also need to have very assured jumping to get over the massive and unique obstacles.

It is these tests that make the Grand National the most exciting and exhilarating race of the year.
