Grand National Odds

Lets look through the 2008 Grand National odds to see if we can find the Grand National winner! The Grand National odds are listed below with our early thoughts on the Grand National runners in each odds barcket.

2008 Grand National Odds

In the 2008 Grand National the horse that is likely to go off the hot favourite is Cloudy Lane. He has won twice since the weights were announced and unless there is a significant gamble on another horse then cloudy Lane will probably go off around 6/1.
Cloudy Lane is 33-1 with VC Bet

Other horses that could go off in single figure Grand National odds are Bewleys Berry, who fell in the race last year, Mckelvey, who came second in the race last year and Snowy Morning, who looks very inexperienced for a possible Grand National winner. Of those McKelvey is probably the best bet as he is very much proven in the Grand National and he should actually be better this year as he actually picked up an injury during the race last year. bewleys berry will not be running mckelvey will not be running

Snowy Morning is 20-1 with Betfair

Of the horses that most people will be looking at for a possible nice priced winner, Chelsea Harbour and Point Barrow are likely to be very popular at their current Grand National odds. Come the big day they will probably be priced around the 16/1 mark and with Point Barrow disappointing in the race last year when well fancied (fell at the first) many people will be out to make up their losses on him whilst Chelsea Harbour is a horse that stays well and ran in the Irish Grand National last year, a popular stepping stone to the Grand National the following year. He has a great chance of at least placing and it looks like the more rain the better for him.

Chelsea Harbour is 50-1 with Stan James

Then we have the horses who are going to go off between 20/1 and 33/1. L Ami fits that bill and recently ran well at the Cheltenham Festival. Many people will have watched that race and thought he has a good chance in the Grand National.

LAmi is 50-1 with Stan James

Another horse that will probably go off that price is Dun Doire who really needs the ground to be on the soft side. He would rate a great bet on softer ground so keep an eye on the weather and if it pours down then you could have a nice priced winner. dun doire will not be running

Of those around the 50/1 mark or bigger, Naunton Brook makes a little bit of appeal as he is a Grand National horse well suited by a test of stamina such as this. He often runs from the front so at least he will be out of trouble and it is easy to keep up with his progress throughout the race. Bets at these sorts of prices are likely to be a bit of fun at the most though, more realistic bets are found at slightly shorter prices. Naunton Brook will not be running
